LOMO - Leningrad Optico-Mechanical Association 
   This association is the oldest and largest producer of optics in Russia and produces a vast array of world-class optical systems for both military and civil economy, including high-precision optical-mechanical instruments, lenses, mirrors, prisms, and diffraction gratings. LOMO recently added a line of fine amateur telescope models. 

Vavilov State Optical Institute - Leningrad Research Institute, which, like the U.S. National Institutes of Standards and TEchnology, sets the standards for all optics institutes, plants, and enterprises in the former Soviet Union. It includes the Scientific Research Institute of Testing Complexes for Optical Electronic Instruments & Systems at Sosnovy Bor. 60% of Vavilov's research and design efforts were dedicated to military and space projects. 

INTES Telescopes of Moscow - This firm offers a wide selection of amateur telescope equipment of very high quality. 5 through 14 inch Maksutov-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Newtonian designs, with full support lines of accessories.

State Institute of Applied Optics Scientific Production - The state Institute of Applied Optics in Kazan is one of the leading Russian enterprises involved in the development and production of optoelectronics, optical technology, and optical element bases. It has had a close relationship with the Kazan Optical Mechanical Plant, both having moved from Leningrad during World War II. They manufacture fantastic military Giant Binoculars.

Lytkarino Optical Glass Plant - The plant is a former producer of optical glass and precision optical instruments for the Soviet military. Civil lines include stereo microscopes,
precision optical instruments, telescopes, binoculars, catadioptric lenses, camera lenses, fiber optic devices, and other optical glass items.

Zagorsk Optical-Mechanical Plant - Former producer of much military optical equipment, adopted much of it's production to civil market. Civil product lines include binoculars, fluorographic cameras, x-ray image intensifiers, ophthalmologic laser instruments, optical sights, medical high-speed drills, medical equipment spare parts for optical instruments etc.

Urals Optical-Mechanical Plant Production Association - One of Russia's leading optical enterprises, producing optical systems for military aircraft. It is also producing surveying instruments and equipment for a variety of consumer goods.

Novosibirsk Instrument-Building Plant Production Association - Produces optical instruments, automation equipment for industry, miscellaneous equipment and spare parts for agriculture, spectrometers, microscopes, telescopes, binoculars and sights.
